Troy was born in Stuart and grew up in Fort Pierce.
He graduated from Lincoln Park Academy in 1996 and continued his education completing an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University in April of 2015.
In 2000, Troy completed the Law Enforcement Basic Recruit academy at Indian River State College and was hired by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office that same year. He has worked in the areas of:

Troy has received numerous awards, commendations and citations, some of which include:
Unit Citation while in SIU in 2005, 2006 and 2009
Unit Citation while in CID in 2011
Unit Citation while in the ILP Unit in 2015
He received the Exceptional Duty Award twice; once in 2009 for his work on the Escobedo Turnpike Murder Case and again in 2010 for his work with Broward County Sheriff’s Office on a narcotics case.
Troy received commendations in both 2010 for his work assisting the agency in our firearms transition and again in 2012 for his work on a shooting that took place on South 13th Street.
He was selected as Detective of the Quarter in 2013.
Troy has previously served as a member of the agency’s SWAT team and is also one of our agency’s armorers. He was also a K-9 handler.
