Professional Services & Technology

The Department of Professional Services and Technology includes:

  • Finance:
    • Manages and maintains records of all Sheriff's Office financial and payroll transactions
    • Responsible for budget preparation and oversees
  • Grants Administration:
    • Monitors grants awarded to the agency
    • Researches funding opportunities
    • Writes proposals
  • Human Resources:
    • Administers benefits programs
    • Maintains personnel records
    • Manages the new hire and internal selection processes
    • Processes member separations
    • Responsible for position control, job descriptions and job task analysis
  • Information Technology: Provides computer support to agency such as:
    • End-user support
    • Hardware support
    • Network administration
    • Programming
    • Special project management and implementation
    • Training
  • Purchasing: Procures the items necessary for daily operation of the agency and conducts inventory control
  • Records: Enters data from all offense/incident reports, traffic citations, and arrest reports. Indexes reports to meet State of Florida requirements for the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) System administered by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
