Membership Requirements


  1. Junior Cadet
  2. Explorer


  • 2 letters of recommendation (School Resource Deputy, School Guidance Counselor, Clergy or Teacher)
  • Be of good health
  • Be of good moral habits with no arrest or conviction
  • Have parental approval
  • Maintain at least a "C" grade point average
  • Submit completed application with $100 non-refundable processing fee
  • Young adults in the 6th, 7th or 8th grade.

Selection Process

Each applicant must pass a selection process which will include an interview and a background investigation.

To Maintain Membership

  • Members must abide by all rules and regulations governing Sheriff's Explorer Post 400
  • Members must attend 60% of all Junior Cadet Functions
  • Members must attend 80% of all Junior Cadet Meetings
  • Members must have dues current
  • Members must maintain at least a ‘C" grade point average
