St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara announced that Papouche Edmond of St. Lucie County was arrested this morning in Lakeland, Florida after a lengthy investigation by St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Detectives working as part of the Treasure Coast Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (F.A.S.T.). F.A.S.T. is a multi agency task force made up of Investigators from several Treasure Coast Law Enforcement Agencies and the United States Marshall’s Service.
Edmond was wanted on several outstanding warrants that included Aggravated Child Abuse, Aggravated Battery, Solicitation to Commit Lewd or Lascivious Battery and Tampering with evidence.
Sheriff’s Office Detectives, working as part of F.A.S.T., had been tracking Edmond for several months. As a result of their efforts they located Edmond at an address in Lakeland, Florida where he was in hiding. Sheriff’s Office Detectives contacted the Tampa Bay Area Fugitive Task Force which sent agents to the Lakeland Address where they found Edmond hiding in the residence.
Sheriff Ken Mascara said, “ Through the tireless efforts of our detectives and the members of the F.A.S.T. unit we were able to find Mr. Edmond and get him off of the street”.
Sheriff Mascara continued, “ With our detectives working as part of the F.A.S.T. unit, we were able to work more effectively with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Our deputies will continue their work as part of this worthwhile and beneficial task force”.
The suspect in this case remains in the Polk County Jail where he is awaiting extradition back to St. Lucie County.
