St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office members and volunteers will wrap hundreds of Christmas presents for needy families Saturday morning
The roll call room at the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office will become Santa's workshop Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon as agency members and volunteers wrap hundreds of Christmas presents for St. Lucie County's needy families. This Sheriff's Office Christmas Families charity drive has been taking place for nearly 20 years.

"This year, we will provide Christmas gifts for 91 families with 233 children," said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. "We also will send presents to Safe Space for 10 additional children as part of our holiday tradition of giving. Throughout the year, members of the public, businesses and Sheriff's Office members work together to make the annual Christmas giving drive a success."

People can contribute by making checks or money orders payable to "St. Lucie County Crime Prevention League." Contributions are tax-deductible. The St. Lucie County Crime Prevention League is organized under the 501(c)(3) provisions of the U.S. tax code. Contributions can be mailed to:

Christmas Families Drive, c/o of Dorothy Shaw, St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, 4700 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981-4825. Donations also can be brought to the Sheriff's Office during business hours.
