St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara asks for public's help to solve more than two dozen burglaries to homes in Spanish Lakes I between Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie
St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara is asking the public to provide information to help solve more than two dozen burglaries to the Spanish Lakes I community east of U.S.1 south of Prima Vista Boulevard and north of Walton Road.

"Some of these burglaries were reported by residents, and others were discovered by our Citizens Observation Patrol," Sheriff Mascara said. "Detectives are investigating these burglaries, almost all of which involved unoccupied homes owned by seasonal residents. Some of them recently arrived to discover the burglaries."

The burglars pride sliding doors, broke windows or pried doors open to enter the unoccupied homes to steal televisions and other items, the Sheriff said.

"Anyone with information should call 9-1-1 in St. Lucie County, or our detectives at 772-462-3230," the Sheriff said. "Those who want to provide tips without giving their names can call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-8477 (TIPS.) If the tip leads to an arrest, the tipster is eligible for a cash reward. People can also give their tips anonymously at the Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers website tcwatch.org."
