St. Lucie County Sheriff's investigators are at the scene of a suicide north of Fort Pierce at this hour, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
It appears the man who shot himself to death today in the 4100 block of North 45th Street may be connected to the shooting of two men around 10:30 this morning at North 39th Street and Avenue F, Sheriff Mascara said.
The release of additional details will not take place at this time while the investigation by Sheriff's detectives continues.
Shane Patrick Streeter, 27, of Fort Pierce, was shot and killed around 10:30 this morning at 39th Street and Avenue F.
The other man who was shot there, Justin Rivera, 22, of Fort Pierce, is recovering at an area hospital.
The two men were walking in that area when another man pulled up in a black Ford pickup truck. The person driving was described as a black male with dreadlocks wearing a white polo undershirt. He is believed to have been the only one in the pickup truck, Sheriff Mascara said.
The man in the pickup truck opened fire, killing Streeter and injuring Rivera. He was taken by St. Lucie County Fire Rescue to an area hospital.
