“We value our partnership with the community through proactive programs such as Neighborhood Crime Watch and Citizens Observation Patrol,” Sheriff Mascara said. “With a pre-event Sunday afternoon and visits by my command staff to neighborhood groups throughout the county, we will thank the most active members of the community in the fight against crime.”
National Night Out Against Crime originated with the national Association of Town Watch, Inc., of Wynwood, Pa. (http://www.nationaltownwatch.org.)
A pre-event auto show takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Port St. Lucie Lanes on U.S.1, Port St. Lucie, at Kitterman Road.
