Plane crash kills pilot the morning of April 14, 2013, Sheriff Mascara announces
St. Lucie County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene of a 9 a.m. plane crash on Range Line Road, south of Glades Cut Off Road west of Port St. Lucie, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
The airplane crashed nose down just west of Range Line Road near the entrance to Treasure Coast Air Park, and the pilot was dead at the scene, Sheriff Mascara said.

The plane was described as a single-seat, single-engine aircraft built from a kit, Sheriff Mascara said.
After family members are notified, the Sheriff's Office will release the identity of the pilot who was killed on impact, said Sheriff Mascara
