St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara sworn in Tuesday for his fourth term
Tuesday morning, St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara was sworn in as Sheriff, beginning his fourth term in office.
County Court Judge Phillip Yacucci administered the oath of office to Sheriff Mascara at the swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Master Deputy Steve Roberts Building, the administrative headquarters of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
"It is a great honor to serve the people of St. Lucie County as Sheriff. It also is a humbling experience," said Sheriff Mascara.
After Sheriff Mascara was sworn in, he administered the oath of office to his command staff.
Sheriff Mascara was first elected in 2000, the year Sheriff R.C. "Bobby" Knowles retired. Sheriff Mascara was reelected in 2004, 2008 and in 2012 when he ran without opposition.
