Sheriff Mascara thanks Tropical Isles for year-round support of Christmas Families charity drive
"For more than 10 years, the generosity of the people of Tropical Isles in Fort Pierce has been a hallmark of our year-round Christmas Families charity drive," said St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. "This year, the people of Tropical Isles have been more generous than ever."

Saturday, there will be a parade at Tropical Isles, 5556 South U.S.1, Fort Pierce (see link below) at 1:30 p.m. The parade ends at the Tropical Isles club house where community members wrap Christmas presents and prepare bicycles to donate to needy children in St. Lucie County.

Aaramark, the Sheriff's Office's jail food service provider, will pick up the bikes and take them to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office headquarters on Midway Road. From there, School Resource Deputies take the bikes and other presents to needy families.

"Members of the public also have been generous in their support," said Sheriff Mascara. "People can make charitable, tax-deductible contributions made payable to 'St. Lucie County Crime Prevention League' and mailed to St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, 4700 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981-4825."
