St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara announces arrest of William Daniel Metcalfe for nine counts of child rape
St. Lucie County Sheriff's detectives Friday night jailed a 41-year-old Port St. Lucie man for nine counts of child rape, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
"William Daniel Metcalfe is being held at the St. Lucie County jail without bond pending a county court hearing Saturday morning," Sheriff Mascara said. "Metcalfe faces nine counts of sexual battery on a child under the age of 12 by a person over the age of 18."
The five-year-old child told an adult on Thursday that she was molested a year ago. On Thursday, the adult contacted the Sheriff's Office after additional conversations with the child, Sheriff Mascara said. The adult confronted Metcalfe about this, and he admitted it, the investigation determined.
An interview with the victim confirmed the details, which led to Friday's arrest of Metcalfe.
