Two Fort Pierce men were indicted this month as part of Operation Log Jam
At today's 1:30 p.m. news conference by the U.S. DEA and other agencies in Washington, D.C., the details of Operation Log Jam were announced - a national crackdown on the manufacture and sale of synthetic marijuana known as "Spice."
The operation included the federal indictment July 12 of Fort Pierce residents Sabir Ahmed, 29, and Mohammad Abu Sayem, 32, in a case investigated by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
On Nov. 12, 2011, a warehouse bay where the two were manufacturing "Spice" exploded into flames. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and other agencies investigated. Eventually, it was decided that the two would be charged federally.
