St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office detectives arrest Cameron Dean Bates of Port St. Lucie for possession of and compiling child pornography, according to Sheriff Mascara
St. Lucie County Sheriff's investigators this morning arrested Port St. Lucie resident Cameron Dean Bates for 10 counts of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of compiling child pornography, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

Bates, 46 (DOB 9/13/65) was arrested at his 5782 N.W. Belwood Circle, Port St. Lucie, home after deputies served a search warrant at the home this morning. Detectives found child pornography on a laptop computer in his car, which Bates described as his "work computer."

Bates was taken to the St. Lucie County jail where he is being held under $75,000 bond pending a Saturday morning county court bond hearing.

Bates was a St. Lucie County Deputy Sheriff from May 1988 until he resigned in June 2006. * * *
