Law Enforcement Memorial Week begins with wreath-laying ceremony Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Mascara announces
At a 10 a.m., Monday (May 14), ceremony, St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara and the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office will recognize the sacrifices made by five deputies, including two Sheriffs, who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The ceremony will take place at 4700 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, the administrative office of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
"Those who made the ultimate sacrifice will be remembered at our annual wreath-laying ceremony at the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office," Sheriff Mascara said. "All emergency services officers can face danger every day they put on the uniform. The observance of Law Enforcement Memorial Week reminds us all of this sobering fact."
At the ceremony St. Lucie County Commission Chairman Todd Mowery will present the Board of County Commissioners' proclamation for Law Enforcement Memorial Week.
St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office Chaplain David Thompson will preside at the ceremony.
