St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara is asking for the public to help find Donairus J. Johnson, 24, wanted for the attempted murder of a north-St. Lucie County man shot in the early morning hours of March 3.
"Our investigation has indicated that Donairus Johnson (DOB 3/12/87) of Fort Pierce shot Jason C. Rainey, 34, in the 2700 block of Kingsley Drive on March 3," Sheriff Mascara said. "I am asking anyone with information to call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-8477 ("TIPS") or give the tips to the Crime Stoppers website tcwatch.org."
Sheriff Mascara continued: "Those who give tips to Crime Stoppers don't have to give their names to be eligible for a cash reward if the tip leads to the arrest of Donairus Johnson. A judge has signed arrest warrants for three charges: attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and retaliation against a witness, victim or informant."
Johnson is described as a black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, with black hair and green eyes.
Deputies were sent to Kingsley Avenue around 1:40 a.m. March 3 after the shooting was reported to the 9-1-1 dispatching center. Deputies found Rainey lying in the street, the victim of gunshot wounds. He was hospitalized and is recovering from his wounds.
