St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara asks for public's help in March 13 homicide case
St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara is asking for the public's help in the case of 35-year-old Jerry King Alfred, of Port St. Lucie, who was shot to death March 13 at a home north of Fort Pierce.
"We have developed a good deal of information, but we need more information," Sheriff Mascara said. "I am asking for anyone with information to contact detectives at 772-462-3230, or people can give information anonymously to Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers and be eligible for a cash reward if the tip leads to an arrest. The Crime Stoppers phone number is 1-800-273-8477. People also can anonymously leave tips at the Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers website, www.tcwatch.org.”
"We continue to investigate this incident that took place around 10 p.m. March 13 at 101 Devonshire Drive," Sheriff Mascara said. "We would like to ask for the public's help to determine exactly what happened at 101 Devonshire Drive that night and who was involved."
Deputies were initially summoned to 101 Devonshire Drive (Sheraton Plaza) for a robbery with shots fired. Once on scene, deputies were informed that two unknown black males entered the residence and demand money.
Subsequently, the victim, Jerry King Alfred, was shot. Shortly thereafter, the assailants fled the scene. They were both wearing black T-shirts, with one wearing jean shorts with other wearing tan khaki pants. They both had their faces covered.
Mr. Alfred was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute by area residents but was pronounced dead at the hospital. * * *
