St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara asks any victims of battery by Randal Lee Smith to contact the Sheriff's Office
Following the arrest of former St. Lucie County teacher Randal Lee Smith in August for battery, Sheriff Ken J. Mascara is asking other battery victims to contact the Sheriff's Office.
"On Aug. 9, Mr. Smith, 61 (DOB 8/28/49) was arrested in Indian River County on a St. Lucie County charge of misdemeanor battery," Sheriff Mascara said. "At the time of the offense, Mr. Smith was teaching at St. Lucie West Centennial High School. His victim was an 18-year-old female student."
Mr. Smith is no longer employed by the St. Lucie County School District.
Sheriff Mascara continued: "We believe there may be additional victims who were students of Mr. Smith. If so, I am asking them to contact the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office's detectives at 772-462-3230."
