St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara invites the public to add FBI's free Child ID App to their iPhones
If you're the parent or grandparent of young children, St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara asks that you check out the FBI's new, free Child ID iPhone App.
"This is a free iPhone application that you can download from the App Store on your iPhone or from iTunes on your PC," Sheriff Mascara said. "If a child disappears, the application will have all the photos, physical description and other facts right at your fingertips that law enforcement needs, and you can easily — and quickly — show to law enforcement. You can also e-mail the information to law enforcement."
The first few hours are crucial when searching for a missing child, said Sheriff Mascara. "That's why I recommend that iPhone users download and use the FBI's Child ID App."
The FBI says that even though the application is only available now for iPhone users, that soon will change. The FBI plans to expand this application to other types of mobile devices in the near future.
