St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara will visit community groups Aug. 2 on National Night Out Against Crime
Tuesday night, the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and community-based groups throughout the county will observe National Night Out Against Crime.
"The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office brought this national program to our county 27 years ago," said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. "National Night Out demonstrates that law enforcement and county residents are united in a strong partnership to fight crime."
National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and Sheriff's Office-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Sheriff and members of his command staff will visit community groups lthroughout the county on on National Night Out Against Crime.
