Walton County man jailed under $1 million bond on four St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office charges of child molestation
Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies assisted the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) Tuesday with the arrest of James William Roesch, 75, of DeFuniak Springs, on four St. Lucie County charges of lewd or lascivious molestation.
The SLCSO investigation began in April after a victim told investigators that Roesch sexually abused her and her brother several times over several years in St. Lucie County. The victims were younger than 18 when the abuse occurred.
WCSO and SLCSO deputies arrested Roesch at his DeFuniak Springs home without incident.
WCSO deputies booked Roesch into the Walton County jail Tuesday.Bond was set at $1,000,000. All four charges are second-degree felonies.
The WCSO will investigate possible crimes that occurred in Walton County.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
Authorities expect that Roesch will be brought to St. Lucie County where the crimes that occurred in that county will be prosecuted.
