St. Lucie County warrants operation results in 104 arrests, 86 arrest warrant served, and five deadbeat dads arrested, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara
St. Lucie County Sheriff's deputies and members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force made 104 arrests, served 86 arrest warrants and arrested five deadbeat dads in a two-day sweep that concluded Thursday night, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
"The Sheriff's Office targeted those for whom we had arrest warrants," Sheriff Mascara said. "As those warrants were served, we made another 18 arrests based on probable cause developed by the actions of those 18. With deputies and task force members on the street, more arrests were possible."
Sheriff Mascara said, "By working cooperatively with other law enforcement agencies, we are able to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of our most important resource: the Deputy Sheriffs of St. Lucie County."
In addition to those arrests, deputies assisted the Probation and Parole office of the Florida Department of Corrections in checking 58 people on probation, resulting in six arrests, said Sheriff Mascara.
"We are working hard to fulfill our mission of protecting the people of St. Lucie County," Sheriff Mascara said. "We conduct warrants sweeps throughout the year to take criminals off the streets."
