St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara invites the public to donate items to support Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches
The public is invited to bring usable and sellable items to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office April 25, 26 and 27, to benefit the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

"The Youth Ranches, which the Florida Sheriffs established 50 years ago, provide a nuturing home for Florida's displaced and trouble youth," Sheriff Mascara said. "Your donated items will help support this charitable organization when the items are sold at Youth Ranches thrift stores in Florida."

Donations are tax deductible as charitable donations.

"It's time for spring cleaning," Sheriff Mascara said. "When you clean out your closet or garage, or if you've gotten new appliances or furniture, please consider bringing items you no longer need to the Sheriff's Office, 4700 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, April 25, 26 and 27 during business hours."

The Sheriff said that if people have items that are too large to bring, please contact the Sheriff's Office at 462-3205 to make arrangements for the Sheriff's Office to come to your home and remove the items.

Examples of items people can consider donating are: clothes, furniture, appliances, jewelry, cameras, housewares and antiques.

Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches thrift stores are located at:

- Crystal River in Citrus County on Florida's west coast.
