St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara announces arrest of Port St. Lucie resident for 14 counts of obscenity possession and child cruelty
St. Lucie County Sheriff's detectives have arrested a 34-year-old Port St. Lucie man for 10 counts of obscenity possession and four counts of child cruelty, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

"Investigators served a search warrant at 8:05 p.m. Thursday at the 2558 S.W. Cooper Lane home of Earl Douglas McGee," Sheriff Mascara said. "Detectives found a computer in his bedroom closet containing obscene material. They also found a CD containing four photos of a naked 4 or 5-year-old girl showing her genitals. Mr. McGee admitted taking the photos and he admitted knowing the girl."

Later, after detectives read him his "Miranda" rights, he decided to speak with detectives  and admitted downloading the pornographic files from the Internet.

Investigators took McGee to the St. Lucie County jail, where he was confined under $65,000 bond until a hearing this morning at which Circuit Court Judge Dan L. Vaughn raised the bond to $300,000.

"The fact that Mr. McGee took graphic photos of a young child whom he knew makes this case especially serious," Sheriff Mascara said.
