No injuries in helicopter crash at St. Lucie County fair, according to Sheriff Mascra
St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara announced that at approximately 3:00 p.m. today a helicopter crashed at the St. Lucie County Fair.
The helicopter crashed in a field on the south west corner of the fairgrounds. There were no injuries reported. The helicopter was providing a short tour ride around the fairgrounds when it lost power and crashed.
The helicopter landed up right and incurred damage to the skids and tail rotor section. Deputies along with Fire Department personnel are on scene and awaiting direction from federal governmental officials of the FAA and NTSB.
