St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara announces arrest of Fort Pierce resident Joseph Barker for animal cruelty in beating, stabbing death of dog named Sam
Today, St. Lucie County Sheriff's detectives arrested a 35-year-old Fort Pierce man for animal cruelty after he admitted beating his dog Sam to death, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
"Mr. Barker (DOB 4/411975), of 4709 Brookline Ave.,Fort Pierce, said he killed his dog Sam, a black pit bull, because it had chased epeople into the road from the sidewalk where he lived," Sheriff Mascara said. "What Mr. Barker did was cruel and inhumane and met all the criteria for animal cruelty."
