St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara asks public's help to find suspect in Thursday night shooting
Derrick Culver, 18 (DOB 9/11/1992), is being sought by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office for the attempted murder of a 19-year-old Port St. Lucie man Thursday night, according Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
He may be driving a silver 1995 Ford Crown Victoria
"We believe Derrick Culver is responsible for the shooting," Sheriff Mascara said. " Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 in St. Lucie County, or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS (1-800-273-8477.) If a call to Crime Stoppers results in arrest, the caller, who does not have to give his or her name, can be eligible for a cash reward."
Nineteen-year-old Port St. Lucie resident Raymond Michael Rakestraw was shot Thursday night around 8:30 in a residential area north of Fort Pierce, according to Sheriff J. Mascara.
Rakestraw was shot Thursday night around 8:30 at North 35th Street and Avenue Q. St. Lucie County fire rescue workers took him to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute, where he remains today.
