Nineteen-year-old Port St. Lucie resident Raymond Michael Rakestraw is the man who was shot Thursday night in a residential area north of Fort Pierce, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
Rakestraw was shot Thursday night around 8:30 at North 35th Street and Avenue Q. St. Lucie County fire rescue workers took him to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute, where he remains today.
Detectives are continuing their investigation, Sheriff Mascara said.
