Missing, endangered 55-year-old St. Lucie County man found in Stuart, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara
Jack Whitsworth Epley, Jr., the 55-year-old St. Lucie County man reported missing by his family July 29, is now recovering from injuries at Martin Memorial Hospital, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
"Mr. Epley was found Saturday by officers of the Stuart Police Department," Sheriff Mascara said. "He was taken by ambulance to Martin Memorial Hospital, and the nursing supervisor contacted authorities because she had read a newspaper article about Mr. Epley's disappearance. We appreciate her diligence and professionalism."
Epley's family members, who live at 5400 Palmetto Drive, in unincorporated St. Lucie County east of U.S.1 and south of Midway Road, told deputies he had left the home several days ago. He suffers from a number of medical conditions and was considered endangered as well as missing.
