St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara invites kids and their parents to Saturday's safety day at Northport K-8 School
Parents and their children with bicycles are invited to a free "Safety Day" from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Northport K-8 School in Port St. Lucie, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
"The School Resource Deputies have organized Saturday's safety day at Northport K-8, at 250 N.W. Floresta Drive," Sheriff Mascara said.
The safety day will include a bicycle rodeo, fitting kids for bicycle helmets with a limited supply a free helmets, a demonstration by the Sheriff's Office's K-9 Unit, a "bounce house," dunk tank, slides and demonstrations of safety tips.
Kids are invited to bring their own bicycles, and there will be some bikes available for kids to use who don't bring a bike.
