St. Lucie County Sheriff's members, volunteers will wrap Christmas presents for needy families Saturday, at 9 a.m., at Sheriff's Office HQ
Volunteers from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and will spend Saturday morning wrapping a roomful of toys for distribution to needy families at Christmas, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

And there's still time for the public to contribute to this charity drive which will benefit more than 200 children in 75 St. Lucie County families.

"Helping those less fortunate has been a St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office tradition for more than 20 years," Sheriff Mascara said. "Some county residents and businesses contribute gifts. Some help us wrap the presents. Others make charitable, tax-deductible contributions to this effort."

"We welcome those who would like to join us Saturday morning to wrap the donated gifts," Sheriff Mascara said. "We collect money throughout the year to benefit the needy of our county. Those who want to make tax-deductible, charitable contributions are asked to make checks or money orders payable to: St. Lucie County Crime Prevention League, and send them to: St. Lucie County Crime Prevention League, Attention Sallyann Kelly, St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, 4700 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981-4825." * * *
