Sixteen law enforcement teams make contact with almost 200 paroled offenders in multi-agency task force sweep
Thursday night’s multi-agency task force, which consisted of 56 officers in 16 teams of law enforcement and parole officers, made contact with 197 paroled offenders throughout St. Lucie County, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
“The offenders were juvenile and adult parolees,” Sheriff Mascara said. “Our St. Lucie County teams consisted of state Probation and Parole officers and law officers from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Pierce Police Department, Port St. Lucie Police Department, State Attorney’s Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement.”
The sweep was part of a Florida Attorney General’s Region 5 effort involving the nine counties of St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River, Bervard, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Volusia and Lake.
The teams arrested a total of 27 parolees on various probation violations.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office provided six staff support personnel for the operation which was headquartered at the Sheriff’s Office’s offices on Midway Road.
