St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara invites north-county car-burglary victims to contact detectives
Following the arrest early Thursday morning of three North Hutchinson Island, St. Lucie County, car burglars, St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara is asking victims of car burglaries in that area to contact detectives.
“The three suspects have admitted committing a rash of car burglaries on North Hutchinson Island, where we had encountered several burglaries,” Sheriff Mascara said. “We recovered 34 stolen items, and we want victims to contact our detectives so that we can return the stolen property to its owners.”
North Hutchinson Island, St. Lucie County, residents who have been victims of car burglaries are asked to contact St. Lucie County Sheriff’s detectives at 772-462-3353 during business hours. After hours, victims may call 9-1-1 in St. Lucie County.
“Thursday afternoon, we made computer-generated telephone calls to residents of the affected area,” Sheriff Mascara said, “but we don’t want any victims to be left out.”
A North Hutchinson Island resident early Thursday morning spotted the thieves breaking into his car and quickly called 9-1-1, enabling deputies to arrest three Vero Beach residents: Deon Maurice Williams, 20 (DOB 5/23/89), Johnathan Germaine Bryant, 20 (DOB 4/8/89), and Marilon Stephen Bell, 26 (DOB 5/8/83.) All three defendants were jailed on numerous charges of burglary and theft when stolen property was found in their car.
