St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara announces results of joint Sheriff’s Office - Fort Pierce Police Department investigation of the “Hot Stop” in Fort Pierce
A three-month undercover investigation by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Pierce Police Department into drug sales at the Hot Stop convenience store in Fort Pierce has resulted in eight arrests, including the arrest of the business owner, with more arrests expected.
“Today, officers served a search warrant on the store and arrest warrants on Wael M. Musaitef, 43, owner of the Hot Stop at 1702 Avenue D, Fort Pierce, and seven others,” said St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. “Marijuana sales were rampant at the store.”
Undercover drug buys took place over the past few weeks, and many were recorded by hidden video cameras.
At the store today, detectives seized several baggies of marijuana, packaged for sale.
At least six more arrests are expected, Sheriff Mascara said.
