St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara thanks the public for tip that led to arrest of arcade robber
St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara today thanked the public for the tip that led to the arrest of a 46-year-old convicted criminal for the robbery of an arcade employee Wednesday night.

“Shortly after we sent surveillance photos of the robbery to the news media, our detectives received an anonymous phone call with detailed information about the suspect and where we could find him,” Sheriff Mascara said.

“On behalf of myself and the deputies and detectives who investigated the case, I want to thank the caller for giving us the specific information that enabled us to make the arrest this afternoon,” said Sheriff Mascara.

Arrested on a charge of robbery was Daryl O’Keefe Terrell, who was living at 4514 Whispering Pines Lane, Fort Pierce. He will be brought to the jail this evening and will have a bond hearing Saturday morning.

Terrell is charged with grabbing $150 cash from a worker at the Famous Spin Win Arcade, 4412 South U.S.1, Fort Pierce, around 10:30 Wednesday night. The man grabbed the employee, forced his hand into her apron where the money was, grabbed the money and ran away, according to the victim.

The caller identified Terrell as the robber, saying he had recently been released from prison in Minnesota and that he and an associate were staying at the associate’s sister’s home in St. Lucie County.

Detectives went to the home, obtained permission from the sister to search the home, and, assisted by a Fort Pierce Police Department canine team, found Terrell hiding in the attic of the home.
