St. Lucie County Sheriff announces arrest of craigslist prostitute
Last October, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s investigators arrested 35 prostitutes, pimps and customers using the popular craigslist web site for prostitution.

At the time, St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara warned that people using craigslist for illegal activities in St. Lucie County would face arrest.

Apparently, everybody didn’t heed the warning. Detectives earlier this week arrested a Brandon (Hillsborough County), Fla., woman who located customers with ads in craigslist.

“People are still using craigslist to engage in prostitution, and it’s still illegal,” Sheriff Mascara said.

In this week’s case, an undercover deputy responded to Sandra Jean Knowles’ ad in craigslist in the “Erotic” section. Knowles instructed the undercover detective to meet her at an apartment in PGA, where the detective took Knowles into custody.

Knowles was taken to the St. Lucie County jail Tuesday afternoon on a misdemeanor charge of solicitation for prostitution. Two hours later, she was released after posting $250 bond.
