Crime Stoppers tip leads to arrest of fifth suspect for possession of firearm Thursday at Samuel Gaines Academy, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara
Krista Wilson, 13, the fifth suspect in a case involving a handgun brought to Samuel Gaines Academy Thursday, is now in custody thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
“This afternoon St. Lucie County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Krista Wilson at her Avenue I, Fort Pierce, home, where a tip to Crime Stoppers said she would be,” Sheriff Mascara said. “I want to personally thank the community for the information we received that led to today’s arrest.”
Sheriff Mascara said: “The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office takes seriously our responsibility to ensure a safe educational environment for students, parents, teachers and administrators. Thanks to the staff of Samuel Gaines Academy and administrators of the St. Lucie County School District, we were able to quickly determine the identities of the participants in the crime Thursday and arrest them.”
Wilson was taken to the St. Lucie Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Fort Pierce. The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice operates the center.
That is where the four youths, all of whom are Fort Pierce residents, arrested Friday were taken. They are: Brendrell Johnson, 10; Asencion Abarca, 13; Curtis Crenshaw, 14; and Brendan Davidson, 14.
