St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara urges county residents to stay off roads during Tropical Storm Fay
The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office continues to respond to calls for service during Tropical Storm Fay, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
The Sheriff also urges motorists to stay off roads in St. Lucie County because of the water on county roads.
“In addition to our regular zone patrol deputies, we have deployed additional deputies throughout St. Lucie County,” Sheriff Mascara said. “These include School Resource Deputies, who are available because school is closed today. Also, since some court functions are not taking place today, we have the availability of some Court Security Deputies for patrol operations.”
Sheriff Mascara said, “Because we anticipate several inches of rain and higher than usual winds today, I am asking anyone who can avoid driving today to stay off the roads until the storm hazard has passed.”
