  Major Stephen Reuther
Major Reuther is a native of New Jersey. He began his career with the St.Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in 1981. Major Reuther has worked his way up through the ranks to his current position. His past leadership positions at the Sheriff’s Office include heading the Training Unit, Administrate Service Division, Commander of the Uniform patrol Division and Criminal Investigation Division.

Major Reuther holds an undergraduate degree from Indian River State College and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Barry University. He is a graduate of North Western University School of Police Staff and Command, Evanston, Illinois and a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy 214 Session in Quantico, Virginia. Major Reuther is also a graduate of Senior Management Institute of Police (S.M.I.P.) and the F.B.I. Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (LEEDS)

Major Reuther currently is a part time adjunct professor at Indian River State College where he teaches in the field of management and supervision. Major Reuther is married and has two sons.
